PARIS, August 2, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Christophe Gilbert, President of Christophe Gilbert International, was recently named a VIP member of Worldwide Who's Who. This special distinction honors individuals who have shown exceptional commitment to achieving personal and professional success.
Christophe Gilbert is the founder, chairman and chief executive officer of Christophe Gilbert International (CGI), and the founder and director of HR Worldwide, two leading services companies for the global telecommunications industry. Throughout his career, he has been a leader in advancing high-technology services in the global telecom industry.
Mr. Gilbert began his career in telecommunications in 1989 as a roll out manager for Graniou, conducting surveys and managing the building of base stations throughout France for Radiocom 2000, France Telecom's first GSM wireless telecommunication network. In 1991, he deployed with Matra telecommunications, which was the first GSM network for SONATEL in Senegal. Five years later, he launched his own services company, which he sold to France Electronique in 1995.
At France Electronique, Christophe built the telecommunications department and grew its revenues from 17 million to 67 million euros. In 2000, France Electronique was sold for several million dollars to ADC, a telecommunications equipment manufacturer based in the U.S., and Mr. Gilbert helped achieve the integration of the two companies before founding CGI in 2002. In 2003, while overseeing 300 employees, he managed operations in Nigeria for Alcatel, which achieved revenues of $120 million, to deploy the first wireless Nigerian operator, Globacom, with 5.2 million subscribers in the first six months.
Mr. Gilbert founded HR Worldwide Ltd. in 2004 to take advantage of the emerging opportunities created by 2G and 3G network deployments in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. In 2007, he founded SAI Group in Ukraine and sold the business two years later.
Mr. Gilbert received a diploma in industrial information technology from the Institute of Technology d'Evry-Val-d'Essonne. In his spare time, he is an Ultra long distance runner, volunteers with the charity association. He will wear a charity bid number for the charity association "A chacun son Everest "during the next Ultra Trail "Tour of Mont Blanc." In the coming years, Mr. Gilbert plans to expand his company to between 400 and 500 employees but not more, in order to keep the company's size manageable, and more importantly, to keep its existing human values.
