The name "Allies" refers to an alliance of Atlanta event companies--all of whom strive for excellence in event design, planning and production. The first Allie Awards was held in 1991 during the Academy Awards, where a few awards were presented during the telecast's commercial breaks. In the past twelve years, the number and diversity of the awards have grown tremendously. They also donate money to charitable organizations in Atlanta.
