WASHINGTON, DC, August 10, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The American Association for Respiratory Care utilizes a national award program - Quality Respiratory Care Recognition (QRCR) - aimed to help patients and families make informed decisions about the quality of the respiratory care services available in hospitals. The QRCR program started in 2003 to help consumers identify those facilities using qualified respiratory therapists to provide respiratory care. The AARC- QRCR program grew out of growing concern among health care leaders and the general public regarding the safety and quality of health care services provided to patients.
SHW-Capitol Hill's Respiratory Department, under the supervision of Mrs. Jeanette Leftwich, received this award from AARC's- QRCR program by meeting the QRCR requirements of providing a level of respiratory care consistent with national standards and guidelines, and the commendation for their commitment to quality care. As such, they are now part of an elite group of only 15% of all hospitals in the U.S. that have applied for and received this award.
