RALEIGH, NC, August 11, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The "End of the World" ad created by Bob Moulton, CEO and Company President of National Pawn, won a Silver in the 2013 Communicator Awards and a Bronze in the Summit Creative Awards. Don Pausback of Pausback Advertising wrote and designed the ad on behalf of National Pawn's agency of record, AdForce, Inc.
The ad offered National Pawn customers a full rebate on anything they had ever purchased at one of the stores, if the world ended as the Mayans had predicted on Dec. 21, 2012.
"We wanted to have fun with the Mayan prediction," said Moulton. "Luckily, no one took advantage of our generous offer."
Both the Communicator Awards and Summit Creative Awards are international competitions. The 2013 Communicator Awards received over 6,000 entries. The Summit Creative Awards received over 5,000 entries from 25 different countries.
"We were thinking of turning our trophies into necklaces," said Moulton, "but the Summit Award weighs 13 pounds. So maybe we'll just turn them into hood ornaments."
National Pawn operates nine stores in the Triangle and Wilmington. Moulton was named Pawnbroker of the Year and received the Torch Award for Business Ethics from the Better Business Bureau of Eastern North Carolina in 2011, as well as the two 2012 Summit Business Awards from the Garner Chamber of Commerce.
