Saginaw State Farm Agent Gives Away Free Back-to-School Bags Throughout August

    FORT WORTH, TX, August 13, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Any family who has sent a child off to school knows how expensive it can be. Paper, pens, books, notebooks, backpacks, new clothes ... the list seems to never end. This year, Fort Worth insurance agent Linda Allen will lend a helping hand, by giving away free school bags at her State Farm office in Saginaw at 8101 Boat Club Road during business hours (8:30 am to 5:30 pm weekdays and Sat 9 am to noon).

"Last year we gave away more than 300 school bags and we are hoping to see even more people out this year," said Allen. "Many students and parents told us how much the event meant to them, so we're going to do it again."

Several school teachers and administrators stopped by last year to get bags as well. "Several teachers mentioned that there are always a few kids who show up at school without supplies," said Allen. "It is such a good feeling to be able to help all of our school children get off to a good start."

Allen and her team sponsor a partial college scholarship for a senior at Boswell HS. She and her team of Ft Worth State Farm agents also collected supplies for persons affected by the West Fertilizer plant explosion in April.

As the author of the book "Out with Customer Service & In with People Service," State Farm Agent Linda Allen is dedicated to serving others, and plans to continue reaching out to the community. This is the third year that she has sponsored the schoolbag giveaway.
