Richard G. Matusich Named a Worldwide Who's Who Professional of the Year for Excellence in Real Estate

Matusich and Associates Realtors Inc., has been named a Worldwide Who's Who Professional of the Year in Real Estate. While inclusion in Worldwide Who's Who is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Worldwide Who's Who membership.

Mr. Matusich has 44 years of professional experience, having recently become the president, CEO and realtor of Richard G. Matusich and Associates Realtors Inc. In the course of his duties, he is responsible for handling three branches of the business, overseeing daily business operations, and renting commercial and industrial properties. Mr. Matusich relies on the wisdom of his late uncle on how he does business: "Don't go for the whole pie, go for the little piece of the pie." Mr. Matusich attributes his success to his hard work, honesty, integrity, and being straightforward. He became involved in his profession because of his prior experiences. He was going to go into government work, but while in college he started working for his uncle in construction. He encountered brokers and felt that he could do the same. The most gratifying aspect of his career is having been an independent broker for 44 years. In addition to his office in San Jose, Mr. Matusich has locations in Aptos, Calif. and Pleasanton, Calif.

Mr. Matusich received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in real estate from San Jose State University in 1971, as well as an Associate of Arts from West Valley College in 1969. In addition to his degrees, he is a certified depressed property expert. To remain in contact with other professionals within his field, he became a member of the Santa Cruz County Association of Realtors, the Santa Clara County Association of Realtors, the Association of Silicon Valley Brokers, the California Business Brokers Association, the California Association of Realtors, the Bay East Association of Realtors, MLS, CoStar Realty Information, Inc., the National Association of Realtors, the Council of Better Business Bureaus, the Silicon Valley Board of Realtors, and the Silicon Valley Commercial Realtors Association. Mr. Matusich is also a member of the Res.Net Accelerated Management Platform, and he is an approved REO broker with One West Bank. In addition, he is a member of the California Business Brokers Association and a graduate of the Default School for Foreclosures. In recognition of his professional excellence, he received a Broker's Agent Award from Independent Brokers Magazine, and he was named a Realtor Emeritus of the National Association of Realtors, commemorating his 40 years of experience with the organization. To benefit others, Mr. Matusich supports Crossman's Church in Dublin, as well as the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Shepherd's Gate, and Disabled Vets. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing, going to the movies, and dining out. In years to come, Mr. Matusich hopes that his son will acquire a broker's license and take control of the company.
