Deanna 'Dede' Stockton is the owner of A Virtual World, a home-based business that provides virtual assistance to companies around the globe. Currently, Ms. Stockton is providing website maintenance and attendance tracking services for an attorney's center. In the past, she has been responsible for creating databases and compiling information in many different venues from software comparisons to simple data entry. Ms. Stockton has nearly 30 years of experience in the information technology industry, and draws upon her seasoned expertise to help clients solve virtual issues.
Ms. Stockton is also the author of a children's book that will be published and released in the spring of 2014. When her children were small, she used to create stories around a character named Sammi Jo and her adventures with her new friends. As the years went by, the stories remained in her head, so Ms. Stockton decided to try her hand at putting them down on paper. The children's chapter book provides ease of reading and can be made into a series.
Ms. Stockton attributes her success to her previous experience (beginning as a receptionist and data entry clerk), her knowledge of the information technology field, and her passion for writing. In 1980, she earned a Bachelor of Science in human development and family studies from Colorado State University. During her free time she volunteers with local church groups, and enjoys gardening, watching movies and reading. She looks forward to expanding her business and writing and publishing more books.
