On Wednesday, September 11, 2013, Cops 4 Causes, will host the 2nd Annual "Heroes Helping Heroes" Benefit Concert at the House of Blues, Sunset Blvd, to raise money and awareness, to ensure services for our fighting men and women. Hosted by Pauley Perrette (NCIS) and Jack Osbourne, this celebrity filled "Evening Of Rock Music" in support of Cops 4 Causes, will feature a special All-Star Live performance including Zakk Wylde (Black Label Society); Steve Stevens (Billy Idol); Mark McGrath (Sugar Ray); Blasko (Ozzy Osbourne); Billy Morrison (Billy Idol); Tommy Clufetos (Black Sabbath); Billy Duffy (The Cult), Franky Perez (Scars On Broadway): Martha Davis of the Motels; AND A VERY SPECIAL SURPRISE GUEST. Together they will help ensure our returning service men and women will find their return home a positive experience.
This benefit will kick off a 3 month campaign of Cops 4 Causes events including a Police Vs. Fire Day at Operation Gratitude, a 3-Day "Heroes in the Shadows" Homeless Veterans Stand Down with the Vet Hunter Project and conclude with a special delivery of care packages to USO Germany for Thanksgiving in partnership with USO Greater L.A.
This year, Heroes Helping Heroes will pay tribute to 'Women Who Make a Difference in the Lives of the Troops', honoring some of the most dedicated women from all walks of life, in honor of World War II Navy Veteran, Millie Taylor. Though Millie lost her brother in war times in Germany, and became a 'Gold Star Mother' losing her son in Vietnam, Taylor remains a woman of conviction, passion, never losing sight of the importance of service.
"Honoring Millie Taylor, and her brave, selfless service this year with the Millie Taylor Award, we hope to establish an inspiring tradition of service." states Deputy Christopher T. Landavazo, founder of Cops 4 Causes. "Paying tribute to those who have risen up in service, both traditional and non-traditional, will reinforce the efforts of the brave who continue to volunteer and sacrifice for our country."
This year's coveted "Millie Taylor Award" will be presented to some familiar names to most, for their dedicated service to our troops. The famed Tippi Hedren, the beautiful Loni Anderson, Young & the Restless star Kate Linder, and everyone's most remembered mom from The Walton's, Michael Learned.
The evening's Guests of Honor at the Heroes Helping Heroes event include - Tuskegee Airman, LT. Col Bob Friend and Bradley Burlingame, the brother of American Airlines flight 77 pilot Charles 'Chic' Burlingame. Helping to make the presentation of awards memorable, include special guests Lorenzo Lamas, Home & Family Co-Hosts, Cristina Ferrare and Mark Steines, Romi Dames and NBC's Mekahlo Medina.
