WASHINGTON, DC, August 29, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Nicaragua will be hosting the first annual Central American Nearshore Summit, whose objective is to promote the region's outsourcing services sector by facilitating valuable information on nearshore destinations and offering a networking platform with industry experts. This unprecedented event will take place in Managua, Nicaragua on November 7th and 8th and will be coordinated by the Central American investment promotion agencies, including CINDE (Costa Rica), FIDE (Honduras), Invest in Guatemala, PROESA (El Salvador) and PRONicaragua.
Under the slogan "Your Regional Outsourcing Hub!", the summit will be the first time the agencies promote the entire region as a destination for investment, which is already home to some of the most internationally renowned companies such as IBM, Intel, Xerox, Transactel, Sykes, Stream Global Services, Citi, Sitel and Hewlett-Packard.
The conference program will include presentations by industry experts and companies successfully established in Central America who will discuss topics of interest, such as industry trends in Latin America, destination selections and the opportunities offered by the region for foreign direct investment. Also, the event will offer a business matchmaking session, which will allow foreign and regional companies to establish key contacts and alliances.
Speakers include Dawn Evans, President and CEO of Sourcing Interest Group (SIG); Kirk Laughlin, Founder and Editorial Director of Nearshore Americas; Ann Harts, Principal of Hickey & Associates, LLC; Atul Vashistha, Chairman of Neo Group & Nearshore Executive Alliance; Mike Barret, Vice Chairman of the Board of Nearshore Executive Alliance; and Peter Ryan, OVUM's Lead Global IT Analyst.
Additionally, the region's investment promotion agencies will have a space available to facilitate on-the-spot interaction with outsourcing investment advisors in order to answer any questions participants may have prior or during the event.
Central America has rapidly become an attractive nearshore destination due to the excellent investment opportunities it offers companies looking to expand their operations in order to increase their global competitiveness. The region's main competitive advantages include its strategic location, merely 2-3 hours away from Miami, Fl., its cultural affinity with the U.S. and reduced language barrier and its competitive cost structure.
