BOISE, ID, August 30, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- HealthCast, Inc., a leading provider of enhanced logical sign-on solutions for healthcare and other industries, announced support for its software solutions on the new HP t820 Flexible Series Thin Client introduced this week . The HP t820 with WES 7 or 8 operating systems pre-installed introduces a new high-performance thin client to the HP portfolio that can also support applications running locally. This addition to the HP suite of thin clients is perfect for hospital settings where high performance and support for local applications, such as speech application software, is critical for broad physician acceptance and effectiveness.
HealthCast's QwickACCESS ("QA") with the innovative HP t820 extends the suite of HP thin-client devices that are compatible with QA. QwickACCESS fully supports virtual desktops and the WES 7 and 8 operating systems installed on the HP t820 and also fully supports the HP Linux operating systems installed on HP ThinPro and HP Smart Zero thin clients. QA can work directly with the HP Connection Manager, so that unlike other sign-on solutions, it does not require any new firmware to be installed on those thin clients and is not affected by thin client version updates. QA is easily deployed with the HP Profile Editor so that it can be pushed out to thousands of devices without requiring any changes to the HP end-point devices. The QA solution also requires a card reader that can be purchased from HealthCast.
"We are pleased to continue our work with HP with support for their new HP t820," said Joan Mehn, CEO of HealthCast. "The high performance, strong security and support for local applications features of the HP t820, combined with the high performance, strong security and innovative access control features of QwickACCESS, create an extraordinary workflow solution for healthcare and other organizations that demand fast performance and strong security. This new offering fills an important gap in today's market."
"Healthcare professionals require the utmost security to comply with strict patient data-protection laws, but they also need fast, high performance computing to give patients efficient care," said Jeff Groudan, marketing director, Thin Clients, HP. "Using QwickACCESS on the new HP t820, we're able to offer a powerful solution that can support the most challenging imaging requirements with enterprise-level security to assist with regulatory requirements."
