Brett Lamar Turner Named a Worldwide Who's Who Professional of the Year for Excellence in Communications Technology

Mr. Turner, a Certified Fiber Optic Technician, has worked in the communication field since 1985, and is currently the president of Optical Construction & Design, Inc., which has been in operation since September 2001. When he established the construction and design company, Mr. Turner did all the billing as well as administrative paperwork while also scheduling and managing jobs which entailed providing fiber optic networks, construction and splicing services. In five years, he would like to get into the construction side of cabling television networks internationally, and get the company's sales to $10 million dollars.

With expertise in the technical aspects of fiber splicing and communications, Mr. Turner continues to play an important role in the company and enjoys managing an assistant, safety officer and crew foremen, preparing job bids and billing, handling scheduling and sales, supporting field technicians, and overseeing customer relations. Mr. Turner previously worked in the oilfield business. He then found a job building cable assemblies for American Airlines and switched his career to communications. A member of the Fiber Optic Association, he supports Haiti earthquake relief efforts and the Disaster Tech Lab, a lab that provides rapid response communication networks for use in disaster relief and humanitarian aid work.
