Dr. Squires Davis is the President and CEO of Squires Davis Physical Therapy and Wellness, Inc., which she started as result of her desire to provide patients with high quality, on-on-one care in her own unique office space in the heart of downtown Bethesda. By giving each patient 100 percent of her attention for each session, she believes that she is able to improve the quality of care, patient outcomes and overall patient satisfaction with their treatment.
Squires Davis Physical Therapy and Wellness, Inc. is able to offer a variety of services to its clients, including personal training, holistic wellness counseling and nutritional counseling with a variety of experts in their respective fields. Dr. Squires Davis feels that she has a unique approach to health, healing and wellness, and she looks forward to meeting any patient who wants a different approach to physical therapy where the patient's positive experience and outcome is the primary goal.
Dr. Squires Davis has been practicing physical therapy for over a dozen years and she is tremendously enthusiastic about helping her patients achieve optimal wellness and a sense of wholeness as a result of injury, trauma or chronic pain. She has a biomechanical approach to treating her patients, knowing that the body functions as a whole and not as individual parts. Helping those individual parts to function as a whole has become the focus of her career. She believes that the right balance of manual therapy, individual and specific exercise prescription and empowering patients with knowledge about their bodies, how they work and how they heal is the key to a successful outcome for each individual patient.
Dr. Squires Davis completed her undergraduate coursework and received a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Maryland at College Park. She then went on to complete her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2001 from the University of Southern California, currently ranked as the top school in the nation for physical therapy for the last 14 years. Dr. Squires Davis has also completed advanced coursework in manual therapy through orthopedic manual therapy seminars, and she received her manual therapy certification as well as coursework from the North American Institute of Manual Physical Therapy. She is certified to perform dry needling and intramuscular trigger point injections as an adjunct treatment for myofascial pain. Dr. Squires Davis' areas of specialty include spinal dysfunction, joint hypermobility and Ehler's Danlos Syndrome, temporomandibular joint dysfunction, headaches, evaluation and treatment of runners, vestibular disorders and treatment of patients with cancer for reduction in neuropathic pain, post-surgical pain, and improvement of overall endurance and well-being.
Recognized for her diligence, Dr. Squires Davis received the Clinical Instructor of the Year Award from George Washington University in 2010. After being presented with the award, she was invited back to the university to share her knowledge as a guest lecturer. Dr. Sara Squires Davis attributes her success to her love for her job and ability to learn something new every day. In the coming years, she hopes to continue to build her practice and raise money for childhood cancer in cooperation with the Children's National Medical Center in Washington D.C through her Sparkles of Hope Fundraiser at http://www.sparklesofhopefundraiser.weebly.com.
