"A Love For Life" is Established to Raise Funding for Pancreatic Cancer Research and Awareness of the Disease

    NEWTOWN, PA, September 21, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- A Love for Life today officially announced its launch as an organization set up to raise money for pancreatic cancer research in partnership with the Abramson Cancer Center at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. Founded by Christine Edmonds, A Love for Life was established in honor of her husband Kevin who died on April 10, 2012 at the age of 51 after a two-year battle with pancreatic cancer. Kevin's sister Nora died in 2009 from the same disease also at the age of 51.

"The average survival rate for stage IV pancreatic cancer is just a little over six months. A Love for Life is dedicated to raising money to fund world class pancreatic cancer research so we can lower the number of those affected by this very aggressive cancer," said Christine Edmonds. "Kevin was beloved by everyone who knew him, and lived his life celebrating family, friendship, and adventure. This foundation will continue Kevin's legacy of his love for life and will be led by his same infectious spirit."

Nora Edmonds ('73) and Kevin Edmonds ('75) attended Holy Cross School in Rumson, NJ. Both went on to graduate from Red Bank Catholic High School (Nora '77, Kevin '79), and then from Fairfield University in Fairfield, CT (Nora class of '81, Kevin class of '84).

A Love for Life is honored to donate 100% of all money raised to fund the Abramson Cancer Center's cutting edge research at The University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
