Peter J. Chenoweth served in the academic field for most of his life, both in the U.S. and in Australia, providing analytical work in the artifical breeding industry. Formerly a professor of veterinary reproduction at Charles Stuart University, he reached the point of retirement, and transitioned into the private sector, where he currently serves as the managing director of ChenoVet Pty., Ltd., a veterinarian that provides services to the animal breeding industries, including livestock, horses, deer and companion animals.
Skilled in animal reproduction, particularly on the male side, Mr. Chenoweth consults in the artificial breeding industry. He also works with companies that produce products for artificial insemination, and provides education in this area for people in the industry who need to develop the laboratory and analytical skills for this work by running their own short courses and wet labs. He attributes his successful career to his energy, innovation, and good people skills.
Mr. Chenoweth holds a Bachelor of Veterinary Science and a Bachelor of Veterinary Science, both from the University of Queensland. He is an executive board member and director of the Australian Veterinary Association. He also serves as the president of the Association for Applied Animal Andrology and sits on the executive board for the Australian Cattle Veterinarians and the Australian Reproduction Veterinarians. In 2012, he was named Theriogenologist of the Year by the American College of Theriogenologists. Looking forward, he plans to refine his business to become a model to take to the U.S. on a larger scale.
