PHILADELPHIA, PA, September 26, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dean Anthony Morrow, Sr., Chief Executive Officer of Songwriting, Production, Publishing, and Entertainment for Keeper of the Valley Music Publishing, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in entertainment.
Mr. Morrow began his in career in music in 1962 when he started his first Doo-wop singing group. Since then, he has dedicated himself to music, emphasizing the rhythm and blues genre. A four octave vocalist, he has written more than 400 songs since 1965, and since 2004, he has produced and released three full CDs and several singles. He has also recorded more than 1,500 songs, of which 1,000 plus are cover tunes.
Mr. Morrow has performed with many of the classic soul hit music groups since 1998, and he names the highlight of his career to be when his previous group, the Phyllies Intruders, opened for The Original Temptations in 2006. The Temptations are the most favored R&B group since 1965, and are still performing at the highest level. He now serves as the chief executive officer of songwriting, production, publishing, and entertainment for Keeper of the Valley Music Publishing. With a vast background in song lyric writing, vocal arrangements and music production, he creates vocal arrangements, oversees entertainment programs, and coordinates vocal and on-stage programs. He also approves vocal arrangements and lyrics for songs.
Mr. Morrow has been in a number of bands, including the 'Soul Brothers L.T.D. Band, The Ink Spots, and the 8-piece vocal band called The Dean's List. Currently, he is the co-lead vocalist for "Morrow-Miles," a recording group he owns with his musical partner Ruth E. Scott-Miles, with whom he also co-owns the record label, OnTour Records. CDs were released for Morrow-Miles in 2008 and 2010 respectively, and are available on www.CDBaby.com under Morrow-Miles.
Mr. Morrow graduated from the Community College of Philadelphia in 1971 with an Associate of Arts in Arts and Sciences in 1971, and studied at Temple University in 1972. He also studied theory and voice from 1972 to 1977. Prior to his music career, he served 18 years as district administrator of four separate offices of The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the Department of Public Welfare, where he led his staff to high rankings. He attributes his success to his perseverance, longevity, and an abiding love of all aspects of music.
Mr. Morrow is a member of NAACP, the Pennsylvania Association of Retired State Employees, Broadcast Music Association, National Museum of African American History and Culture, AARP, and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Looking ahead, he plans to become a talk show host, and interview a variety of interesting local and national entertainers with his co-host Ruth E. Scott-Miles. He also hopes to continue performing with his band and release two more CDs on his record label, OnTour Records.
