Holding more than three decades of experience, Ms. Klees teaches grades seven to 11 in the areas of health and physical education
KINGSLEY, PA, September 27, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ --Maureen M. Klees, MS, Health and Physical Education Teacher for Mountain View High School, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in health education.
As a health and physical education teacher at Mountain View High School, Ms. Klees believes the subjects should be main components of not only a student's curriculum, but of their everyday life. "I think that physical education and health complement each other," she says. Inspired by one of her own high school teachers, Ms. Klees pursued a career in education as she wanted a job that would allow her to be both indoors and outdoors and give her the ability to spend time with her children.
Holding more than three decades of experience, Ms. Klees teaches grades seven to 11 in the areas of health and physical education. Mountain View High School is now introducing a state-mandated test called the Keystone tests, which will be used for the subjects of biology and algebra. Ms. Klees is also working to have her students certified in CPR and AED.
Ms. Klees earned a Bachelor of Science in Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance from Lock Haven University, followed with a master's degree in health science from East Stroudsburg University. She is also the co-founder of Lock Haven University's first women's volleyball club, which developed into a team that was later ranked number one nationally.
Ms. Klees attributes her success to her faith in God, her willingness and ability to recognize opportunity, and the support she received from a health and physical education teacher, music teacher, and her parents, specifically her mother. She is a member of the Mountain View Education Association, PSEA, NEA, the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance, and the American Public Health Association. Looking forward, she aspires to open avenues where she can have a part-time business, while enjoying her retirement years.
