The map is updated daily with emerging incidents of workplace, school and public shootings.
BIRMINGHAM, AL, September 28, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The online map is updated daily with emerging incidents that are not limited to shootings but include all types of assaults that occur in a public or non-residential setting. Visitors are able to scan the map for recent cases and hover over an icon to find the date, a general description and a link to the associated news article to get more information. Rampage assaults such as the Naval Yard shootings in Washington, DC are covered but also lesser known cases that do not receive national coverage.
Visitors are also able to filter their view by type of assailant such as employees, clients (including students) or cases of domestic violence spilling over to the workplace or school. The website also provides a table that lists these cases by type but also includes the random assaults or assailants that do not fit in the above categories.
The purpose of the online map is to provide security and violence prevention professionals a means to keep abreast of emerging cases to develop their intervention capabilities and to promote prevention. An associated Linked-In Group provides an avenue for discussion.
The site, www.rampagereport.com is brought to you by Peace@Work who also provide the ePanicButton and the Threat Assessment Tool.
