Ana E. Torres Inducted into Worldwide Who's Who for Excellence in Finance Management

    SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO, October 1, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ana E. Torres, Public Finance Manager for the Government Development Bank for Puerto Rico, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in finance management.

Ms. Torres manages the origination and execution of transactions in government sectors. She interacts with clients in government, traders, rating agencies, legal counsels, and tax counsels and regulatory bodies. Her daily work also involves interacting with the treasury department and handling products such as government-issued bonds. The Government Development Bank for Puerto Rico serves as a fiscal agent and financial advisor for the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and its instrumentalities.

A business and financial professional for 28 years, Ms. Torres has spent the past six years as the public finance manager for the Government Development Bank for Puerto Rico. Her areas of expertise include banking, financial management, capital markets, portfolio management, municipal bonds and debt management. Prior to joining her current company, she worked as a real estate broker for Realty 1 and as an Account Officer for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). Previous to that she worked as a Management Trainee in the Banco Central.

Demonstrating her passion for finances and investment banking, Ms. Torres attributes her success to being a workaholic. She also credits her willingness to help others. She became involved in her profession because she studied finance and management in school and also because of her experience in banking.

Ms Torres received a bachelor's degree in Finance and Industrial Management from the University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez. She is also a member of the Financial Analyst Association. Whenever she is not helping others manage their finances, she enjoys traveling to different parts of the world. In the coming years, Ms. Torres plans to continue working for the government.
