Sitterle Homes Saluting Military Men and Women: Sitterle Salutes 2013 to Benefit Wounded Warrior Project in San Antonio, Austin and Houston, TX

    SAN ANTONIO, TX, October 04, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Sitterle Homes has launched Sitterle Salutes, an annual fundraising effort in its San Antonio, Austin and Houston, TX divisions. The major benefactor of Sitterle Salutes in 2013 will be Wounded Warrior Project, a nationwide organization that helps severely injured service men and women and their families heal and return to civilian life.

From October 1, 2013 to December 31, 2013, Sitterle Homes will salute veterans in San Antonio, Austin and Houston by volunteering and contributing to local charities, including Toys for Tots and Fisher House. On November 7, Sitterle Homes will host a fundraising event and auction at the Campanas Club House in San Antonio; all proceeds from this event and other promotional efforts will go to Wounded Warrior Project.

In coming years, Sitterle Salutes will recognize other organizations that are in service to their communities. In 2012, Sitterle Homes raised funds for sheltered animals with proceeds going to the San Antonio Humane Society and the Animal Defense League.

Sitterle Salutes in San Antonio is being co-chaired by Frank Sitterle, Jr. co-owner and Jeff Buell, co-owner. Sitterle Salutes in the Austin division is being chaired by Brian Shields, division president and partner. Steve Von Hofe, Houston division president and partner, is chairing in Houston.

Wounded Warrior Project was founded in 2003 by John Melia with the assistance of family and friends. Melia was severely wounded in a helicopter crash in 1992. Moved by stories of the first wounded service members returning home from Afghanistan and Iraq, WWP took action to help soldiers in need. Wounded Warrior Project is marking its 10-year anniversary in 2013 with the theme, "A Decade of Service. A Lifetime of Commitment."
