Ms. Barbitsch is working to develop a system and process to receive and review external investigator research proposals
GLENDALE, NY, September 26, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Cynthia K. Barbitsch, RPH, Investigator Initiated Trial Consultant for Purdue Pharma LP, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in pharmaceuticals.
Ms. Barbitsch has 13 years of experience as a pharmacist, with nine years of experience working in investigator initiated research. On a daily basis, she develops and implements an investigator initiated trial (IIT) program, which involves collaborating with cross-functional partners to establish processes to receive, review, evaluate, contract, forecast and document IIT submissions. In addition, she creates standard operating procedures and associated working practices in compliance with company policies and all governmental and local laws and regulations. Furthermore, she selects and monitors appropriate electronic systems to support programs once they are in place, and develops educational tools to help train others in their use. Ms. Barbitsch prides herself on managing IIT requests from submission through closure.
As her current pet project, Ms. Barbitsch is working to develop a system and process to receive and review external investigator research proposals. To accomplish this, she works with the medical affairs department to develop processes and procedures. Ms. Barbitsch attributes her success to her excellent education, mentors and the opportunities that were provided to her. She became interested in pharmaceutical research activities while working as a pharmacist at a hospital. From there, she was given the opportunity to work in the investigational pharmacy, which allowed her to participate in research that was being conducted at the hospital. Through her employment with Purdue Pharma LP, Ms. Barbitsch has successfully rebuilt and managed a hospital's investigational pharmacy. In addition, she has successfully developed, executed and manage an IIT program.
Ms. Barbitsch is pursuing a Doctor of Pharmacy from Shenandoah University, having received a Bachelor of Science in pharmacy from Saint John's University in 1999. In addition to her degrees, she became a registered pharmacist in the State of New York in 1999. She is also certified in drug development through Temple University, and she is a certified pharmacist in immunization through the American Pharmaceutical Association. She is a member of the American Pharmaceutical Association, the Drug Information Association, and the Investigator Initiated Sponsored Research Association.
