We have a very strong line-up of speakers for AOCAP 2013, including many leaders in the fields of resort developments, mixed use, shared ownership and recreational real estate
HONG KONG, October 08, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Above Hong Kong's central business district and overlooking the harbour at over 100 floors in the fifth tallest hotel in the world, AOCAP delegates will examine many of the region's current challenges and opportunities as the Asian Economic Community (AEC) approaches in 2015.
As "Asia's World City", Hong Kong sees the importance of Alternative Ownership in the city's tourism strategy. A lively opening ceremony at AOCAP is supported by the Hong Kong Tourism Board and will involve a traditional Chinese Lion Dance. Local presence will be lead by Dr Peter Lam Kin-Ngok, Chairman of the Hong Kong Tourism Board. Also attending from Hong Kong and delivering a keynote on "Building the Platform for Growth", is Ms. Winnie Chiu, President of Dorsett Hospitality International.
Alternative Ownership is an integral part of mainstream tourism and is thriving within Asia Pacific. Focused solely on resort developments, mixed use and recreational real estate, AOCAP 2013 will take a fresh look at the region's travel and tourism forecasts and dynamic trends, fueled by the emerging middle classes within the Asian countries, their appetite for outbound travel and how the region compares to other emerging markets.
Providing insight into the Asian travel marketplace and exploring the launch of AEC is PATA Regional Director-Pacific, Chris Flynn.
With the focus on mixed-use projects, both resort and urban, the conference schedule examines industry insight and trends, legal frameworks and operations, architecture and design, as well as innovations, consumer financing, marketing and sales strategies.
"We have a very strong line-up of speakers for AOCAP 2013, including many leaders in the fields of resort developments, mixed use, shared ownership and recreational real estate from Asia Pacific and around the world. Hosted in Hong Kong and with support from the Hong Kong Tourism Board underscores the importance of Alternative Ownership in mainstream tourism in resort and urban environments," commented Paul Dean, AOCAP Advisory Board.
A special panel discussion on "The Peoples' Republic Of China, A Market In Waiting?" is hotly anticipated, and will be complemented with presentations and discussions by global resort leaders from Interval International, Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific, the Absolute World Group, Hilton Grand Vacations, Diamond Resorts International, Hyatt Hotels & Resorts, RCI, Jumeirah Group, The Registry Collection, American Resort Development Association, yoo Hotels and the Australian Timeshare & Holiday Ownership Council, to name just a few.
AOCAP 2013 is an unmissable event for those who develop, own, operate, market or sell purpose-built mixed use resorts, incorporating recreational real estate including shared ownership, as well as those contemplating the potential conversion or renovation of an existing development. The conference provides the ideal platform for government officials, tourism organizations, tourism policy makers and regional hospitality companies to learn more about this dynamic segment of the international tourism industry and will be of great interest to the national tourism media.
