Dr. Karen Bomford Inducted into Worldwide Who's Who for Excellence in Animal Care Services

    KINGSLEY, AUSTRALIA, October 9, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Karen Bomford, Owner of Doubleview Vet Centre, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in animal care services.

Recognized for more than a decade and a half of invaluable contributions to her field, Dr. Bomford has found professional success with Doubleview Vet Centre. Over the past six years, in her capacity as owner, she has managed the center. Prior to her current position, she was employed as a veterinarian and a veterinary manager with various companies for more than a decade.

Dr. Bomford has traveled the world, working throughout Australia, England, Wales, and Zimbabwe. She put herself through university as her family had little money and did not come from a strong university background. Despite these disadvantages, however, Dr. Bomford believed in herself, and held fast to her dreams to get through the tough times in her career. At times, she considered leaving the veterinary profession due to a lack of financial compensation, but she found that she could not do so, due to her love, passion, and dedication for the field. Instead, she purchased the practice that she had managed for several years while she was eight months pregnant with her second child. "Life is a juggle at times, but I feel all aspects of it are now becoming fulfilled," says Dr. Bomford.

Doubleview Vet Centre was founded more than five decades ago and has since provided services for a wide range of animals, including cats, dogs, rats, birds, ferrets, and even a few kangaroos and seals. They provide Open Days, so that people may come and walk through the clinic and see what services they have to offer. "With fully equipped examination rooms, diagnostic machines, quality anesthetic monitoring equipment, our own pharmacy and continuing education for our staff, we provide on-the-spot assistance for nearly all pet health and medical needs."

Dr. Bomford received a Bachelor of Veterinary Science from the University of Melbourne in 1997. She remains affiliated with the industry through The Australian Veterinary Association Ltd, and looking forward, she intends to experience continued growth in her field.
