Three decades of agility and adjustment.
During the early years of business, SAS was involved in the industrial kitchen exhaust hoods market.

Wanting to transition into the manufacturing sector, SAS began to sell and distribute fume extractors for the welding and soldering markets.

This sector sparked particular interest with Bryan who began to learn the ins and outs of industrial fume extraction.

During this time as a seller and distributor, Bryan identified opportunities for improving the market.

At the time, most competing products were made in Europe, were oversized, required a lot of energy, took over a month to build and ship, and were expensive.

"After 20 years in the air purification industry selling competitive products, it seemed to me that the products I was selling lacked genuine inspiration. They were generic, over-priced, and lacked in quality and innovation," said Bryan.

At that point, Bryan decided to use his technical expertise and knowledge of client needs to invent his own fume extractor that would revolutionize the industry.

Thinking small, modular and efficient.
Bryan's objective was to design a product that was smaller, more efficient, and more economical than other products offered at the time.

After years of research, design, and prototyping successes and failures, the end result was a simple and effective unit: The Sentry Air System Model 100. The beauty was in the simplicity of design.

Catering to the soldering market, the Model 100 offered greater usability, higher efficiency and enhanced portability than any competing products being sold at the time.

Making the switch from representative to manufacturer.
Within the last ten years, SAS has moved from selling and representing multiple brands of fume extractors to solely designing, manufacturing, selling and shipping SAS products.

It was in making this switch that SAS was able to carve out its place in the fume extraction market and begin to establish itself as a company based on forward thinking, end user success and superior products.

Today, SAS has expanded their product line to include ductless fume hoods, ducted exhaust hoods, portable clean rooms, free hanging and portable ambient room air cleaners, portable spray hoods and a variety of filtration media.
