Deborah E. Perzak, DVM, Recognized by Worldwide Branding for Excellence in Veterinary Medicine

    SIMPSONVILLE, SC, October 16, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Deborah Perzak, DVM, Owner of Woodruff Road Animal Hospital, has been recognized by Worldwide Branding for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in veterinary medicine.

Dr. Perzak started her professional career in the restaurant and restaurant management industry, but she has always had a love for animals and science. After 15 years, she decided to complete her undergraduate and professional degrees and found her niche in animal care. She has been a practicing veterinarian for the last 12 years and purchased Woodruff Road Animal Hospital in 2008. Dr. Perzak is currently building a new veterinary hospital that should open in spring 2014. This hospital will provide full-service health care and wellness to pets, luxury boarding services for dogs and cats featuring deluxe amenities, and products for pet owners to pamper their pets. Dr. Perzak has previously been a board member with the Humane Societies in Georgia and Greenville, SC, and she is a former Rotarian as well. She was involved in many student organizations while in vet school that helped her diversify her talents. As a matter of fact, she is proudly known as the resident "cat whisperer and expert". Despite all this press, however, she remains well versed in multiple aspects of care for dogs. In addition, she worked for a research pathologist throughout her vet school career.

Dr. Perzak has 12 years of professional experience as a veterinarian, with five years as the owner of Woodruff Road Animal Hospital. Over the years, she has established herself as an expert in canine and feline internal medicine, senior pet care, nutrition, and weight loss counseling, On a daily basis, she is responsible for providing full health services for pets, as well as educating pet owners on animal health, wellness and nutrition. On an administrative level, Dr. Perzak handles the daily operations of the practice, including strategic planning and development.

Looking back, Dr. Perzak attributes her success to enjoying a good challenge, and having the courage to be a visionary. She surrounds herself with people that complement her, and share her belief that we never stop learning. She became involved in her profession because of her prior experience in the restaurant industry. She loved animals and people, and thus decided to switch careers.

Dr. Perzak is currently enrolled in strategic coursework to enhance her knowledge and keep her skills sharp. She received a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from The College of Veterinary Medicine, where she graduated with summa cum laude honors, and she completed an internship at Texas A&M University. She has also received a bachelor's degree in biology, which she earned from the University of South Carolina, where she graduated magna cum laude. She is a member of a national veterinary management group, VMG 24, the Greater Greenville Veterinary Medical Association, the South Carolina Association of Veterinarians, the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Association of Feline Practitioners, the American Animal Hospital Association, and the National Association of Professional Women. To give back to others, she contributes to the ASPCA, Alley Cat Allies, Miracle Hill Ministries, the Save the Chimps Foundation, and Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. In years to come, Dr. Perzak intends to possibly teach and consult within the industry.
