CHICAGO, IL, October 25, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Today nearly 1,000 team members from Kaplan Higher Education Campuses (KHEC) will collectively give back to their local communities across the country at more than 40 locations via the organization's national Serve-a-thon. From sorting, cooking and serving food to those in need to beautifying area parks to hosting haunted houses for charity benefit, thousands of man hours will be invested in showing a commitment to each local community.
Each campus and administrative office selects its own organization to sponsor to ensure a meaningful contribution and lasting impression. Many of the supported organizations, some of which include Feeding America member food banks and the Muscular Dystrophy Association, rely on the efforts of local volunteers such as those from KHEC to successfully run their programs and achieve their respective missions.
While KHEC schools and administrative offices give back to their communities throughout the year, in October 2012, the organization held its first Serve-a-thon with every location devoting the same day to service and continued the tradition in April 2013. As a result of the impactful events, KHEC's Serve-a-thons occur twice a year and the next one is planned for the spring of 2014.
