Wet vs Dry Shotcrete
Wet Process Shotcrete
With wet-process shotcrete a low-slump concrete mix is pumped with a concrete pump to the end of the pipeline where a special shotcrete nozzle is attached. That shotcrete nozzle introduces compressed air to the concrete. This velocity, combined with the low slump of the shotcrete mix, allows the concrete to be sprayed on slopes, vertical walls, and overhead effectively and safely. These concrete pump range in size and power to suit any job - from smaller truck mount, skid mount pumps to large-scale pumps capable of pumping harsh pea gravel mixes, blend mixes, low volume shotcrete, tunnel and structural wall construction, concrete dome and storage tank construction.
Dry Process Shotcrete
With dry process shotcrete (also known as 'Gunite') air pressure is used to send dry material from the machine through the hose to the nozzle where water is added.
Gunite machines are versatile, easy to maintain and provide a smooth output to make sure any job is done right. The components are easy to disassemble, change and the machines are portable and easy to store.
Gunite machines can be configured for any gunite/dry-mix shotcrete application.
Some examples of their versatility:
Swimming Pool Construction, sprayed concrete walls and ceilings, tunnel and bridge construction and repair, parking garages, soil retention/retaining walls, concrete walls and domes, and for special projects like sloping or curving zoo/skatepark/waterpark areas.
