    DALLAS, TX, November 21, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Balcony House Fine Art Gallery celebrated its grand opening with style and grace featuring the inspirational landscapes of artist/owner Jerry Malzahn and his talented colleagues, Cecy Turner, Erik Koeppel, Lauren Sanscricq, and David Terry. The gallery also exhibits many many significant 19th century paintings by artists such as Thomas Moran, George Inness, Worthington Whittredge, and J.W. Casilear who continue to inspire artists and collectors worldwide.

Balcony House Gallery primarily features the art of Jerry V. Malzahn who expresses his immense love of nature through his paintbrush. His work pays homage to the Hudson River School and other nineteenth-century masters of landscapes whom Jerry continuously studies. One can quickly appreciate the influence of Asher B. Durand, J.W. Casilear and George Inness among many others in the body of Jerry's works.

In 1994, Jerry found a hidden talent at the age of forty-eight and began a new journey. He devoted himself to landscape painting and quickly gained recognition in the artistic community by winning two First Prizes at the State Fair of Texas. In 2003, Jerry was selected for membership in the prestigious Salmagundi Club in New York which puts him in the esteemed company of some of the most accomplished artists in the country including Thomas Moran. Today, his works are exhibited in significant private, corporate and public collections in Texas, New York, Colorado, and at the U.S. Naval Academy Museum in Annapolis, Maryland. He was also competitively selected to paint an ornament representing Texas for the White House Christmas tree hosted by President and Mrs. George W. Bush.

In 2012, Jerry was invited to participate in an exhibit of sight and sound with the two time Emmy-award winning composer and musician, Charles Denler. The celebrated symphony, Portraits of Colorado, An American Symphony No. 1, was performed by the Charles, the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, and choir at Boettcher Hall in Denver, Colorado in May of 2013. This large body of work will to be on exhibit throughout the 2013 concert season. Jerry and Charles enjoy a wonderful working relationship and are currently collaborating on Charles next symphonic presentations in Denver and Connecticut.
