LEDA - the 3D, Silent, Black and White, Feature Film

    WASHINGTON, DC, November 25, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Inspired by the controversial Greek myth Leda and the Swan, Leda is a modern tale of love, lust and loss. Following a young couple in love we bear witness to the joys and sorrows of an idyllic relationship until the arrival of the malevolent swan shatters their world forever.

Written by Wesley Pastorfield and Samuel Tressler IV, LEDA will be shot by New York based Cinematographer Nick Midwig in 3D utilizing the latest digital cinema tools available including multiple Red EPIC cameras.

"Shooting a silent film in 3D allows us to blend traditional visual storytelling techniques with modern technologies," director Samuel Tressler IV states. "Not only will we be using the 3D to intensify the more surreal scenes but also to subtly pull the characters apart visually as the relationship fails."

LEDA is set to start shooting in Late Spring 2014 in rural Maryland. The producers have launched an Indiegogo campaign to secure funding for the production with an eye on Film Festivals and distribution. Initial premieres will be accompanied by a live orchestral performance of composer Matthew Carey's original score.

The projected budget is $50,000 with the majority going to industry professionals working in the field of stereoscopic filmmaking and the rental of equipment and locations.

Perks range from DVD, BluRay and digital copies of the final film, to film props like giant swan eggs and bloody swan feathers, as well as trips to the set and private screenings.
