Papandreas Orthodontics in North Royalton Celebrates 10th Anniversary of Halloween Candy Buy-Back

    NORTH ROYALTON, OH, November 24, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Papandreas Orthodontics is celebrating ten years of buying back Halloween candy from patients. Since many candies can damage braces by being too chewy or crunchy, Dr. Sam Papandreas offers to buy all the candy that kids collect while trick-or-treating.

To help sort through the piles of candy that come back, a local Girl Scout Troop volunteers their time. The candy is all donated to a women's shelter in Cleveland.

Dr. Papandreas says the candy buy-back is a win-win situation, benefiting both the orthodontist and the patient. "For the kids, not being able to eat Halloween candy can be discouraging. So I like to offer them a small reward for being responsible and taking care of their braces. And for me it means fewer loose wires and broken brackets that need fixing."
