"These charities were chosen because they are truly committed to helping make a difference in the community," said Shawn Archambault, president of FluidEdge Consulting.
WAYNE, PA, December 05, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- In an effort to raise funds for several local charities and families in need, employees from FluidEdge Consulting came together to collect donations and test their skills in the 13th annual Philadelphia International Dragon Boat Festival this past October.
"Not only did our staff have a great time competing as a dragon boat racing team, but we also managed to raise $3,605 in the process. Our hope is to participate in the festival again next year so that we can continue to support the worthy endeavors of our local charities," said Shawn Archambault, president of FluidEdge Consulting.
This year, four local charities were selected to receive a portion of the funds. The charities included:
- Chosen 300 Ministries, Inc., which provides meals and services to the homeless.
- The Drueding Center, a transitional housing program that serves homeless and formerly homeless families in Philadelphia.
- Rebuilding Together Philadelphia, whose mission involves bringing volunteers and communities together to improve the homes and lives of low-income homeowners.
- The Lord's Pantry, which runs an Adopt a Family for Christmas program in Downingtown, Pennsylvania.
"These charities were chosen because they are truly committed to helping make a difference in the community and have positively impacted many lives," Archambault said.
During a special presentation at the FluidEdge offices on November 27, representatives from Chosen 300 Ministries, the Drueding Center, and Rebuilding Together Philadelphia received a check for just over $850. The remaining funds were given to the Lord's Pantry.
"Rebuilding Together Philadelphia applauds FluidEdge Consulting for being a socially conscious partner that recognizes the needs of the Philadelphia community at-large. We are looking forward to working with them in the future," said Gwen Gregory, Board President of Rebuilding Together Philadelphia.
Brian C. Jenkins, executive director of Chosen 300 Ministries, also expressed their gratitude and already knows how the funds they received will be used. "These funds, along with contributions made during this year's Walk Against Homeless, are going towards the renovations of our new West Philadelphia Homeless Outreach Center," he said, adding, "The new center will empower us to provide an additional 50,000 meals to the homeless. FluidEdge has been a driving force with corporate engagement through volunteer services at our area outreach centers."
