Mrs. Pegram celebrates a fifth decade of experience in her field
GREENVILLE, SC, December 10, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ina Carson Pegram, Owner, Director and Educator at the Pegram Studio, has been named a Worldwide Branding Professional of the Year in Music Education. While inclusion in Worldwide Branding is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Worldwide Branding membership.
Recognized for her professional longevity, Mrs. Pegram celebrates a fifth decade of experience in her field. For nearly all of the past 46 years, she has had the responsibility of providing music education, including piano, voice, choral, ensemble, private and group lessons for students at private schools, as well as in her private studio.
Mrs. Pegram began teaching piano in 1968 and directed a local Ladies' Ensemble for approximately three decades. She has taught in various areas in the field in a variety of different venues having taught at Pleasant View Christian Academy for 13 years where she trained elementary, junior high and high school choirs and ensembles, as well as training students and ensembles from Hampton Park Christian School since 1982. Mrs. Pegram has had the honor of teaching hundreds of students, many of whom have gone on to win scholarships and awards on the local, state and national levels. She has also acted as an accompanist and vocal soloist in the community.
In this fifth decade of experience and the educational background that started it all, it comes as no surprise that Mrs. Pegram has excelled in her industry. In 1977, she received a Bachelor of Science in music education from Bob Jones University. Just four years later, she attended her alma mater to earn a Master of Arts in sacred music. Mrs. Pegram was a member of the Music Educators' National Conference for over 30 years. A nationally certified voice teacher through the Music Teachers National Association and nationally certified piano teacher through the American College of Musicians, Mrs. Pegram desires to stay close to the industry. She is professionally affiliated with the National Association of Teachers of Singing, the Music Teachers' National Association, and the National Federation of Music Clubs. She is a member of the Hall of Fame of the National Guild of Piano Teachers. Mrs. Pegram also serves on the Board of Adjudicators for the American College of Musicians as well as on the board of the Greenville Music Teachers Association and the Greenville Woman's Music Club. Looking toward the future, she intends to continue doing what she loves.
