MELBOURNE, VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA, December 20, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Bruce Watson, Founder and Principal of Heads Together, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in community development.
Dr. Watson has 41 years of professional experience, with 13 years as the founder and principal of Heads Together. In the course of his duties, he is responsible for advising clients on various issues and projects, as well as providing training workshops and community consultations with a focus on evidence-based research. He is proud to serve as a solid link between individuals, businesses and communities.
A specialist in community development services, Dr. Watson works with clients on such issues as community participation, community ownership, empowerment, lifelong learning, inclusion, access and equity, social action, advocacy, networking and self-help. Beyond his daily responsibilities, Dr. Watson sings in an a cappella men's group called Men in Suites; he has been with the group for the past six years. In addition, he does film acting on occasion. Dr. Watson attributes his success to his determination. In addition, he takes an ethical approach to all he does and maintains a broad perspective, considering how present actions pertain to the future.

He became involved in his profession because of his long-held interest in community development processes, after starting his career as a medical scientist working in diagnostic pathology and spending many years in teaching and executive roles. Dr. Watson taught at RMIT University and held positions as head of department, head of school and deputy dean. Following retrenchment in 1999, he decided to pursue his interest in community development processes. He has always held a volunteer position within the community.
Dr. Watson received a Ph.D. in organizational learning from the University of Melbourne in 2002 and a master's degree in educational studies from Monash University in 1986. In addition to his degrees, he received a Certificate IV in assessment and workplace training from the University of Melbourne in 2003. He is a fellow of the Australian Institute of Management, as well as the Australian College of Education. To honor him for his years of distinguished service, Dr. Watson is a seven-time recipient of the Australian Achiever Award, which he has received each year since 2013. To give back to his community, he contributes to The Phoenix Institute of Melbourne, as well as the Cairnmillar Institute. In years to come, Dr. Watson plans to continue growing his company with larger projects that involve more people.
