With a career that spans more than two decades in various industries, including financial, government, IT, private sector and manufacturing, Ms. Atkins' diversified skill set and experience in the end-to-end running and development of small- to medium-sized companies has seen her well-positioned as the general manager of back to sleep. Backed by an extensive history and experience working within projects, business development, finance, customer relations and management, her diversified experience has been the key to taking small- to medium-sized businesses and launching them into the spotlight. Additionally, her strong attention to detail, passion, diversification, and head for structure and implementation is the driving force that will lead the organizations that she is involved with to leave a lasting and positive impression, now and well into the future, as well as locally, nationally and internationally.
Looking back, Ms. Atkins attributes her success to her determination to grow and learn every day, a strong team and knowledgeable supportive mentors. She became involved in this profession about 10 years ago; she fell in love with beds and the manufacturing industry. When recruited into the bedding industry, Ms. Atkins knew nothing about beds; however, with this newfound fire ignited in her, she learned everything from manufacturing, design to research and development. After a few years, Ms. Atkins stepped out of the bedding industry to do some private consulting work for small to medium businesses. After a short period, fate would have her fall back into the industry she was so passionate about. Ms. Atkins met the owner of back to sleep at a wellness conference and saw a beautiful boutique company that was focused on the customer, educating consumers on sleep posture and developing a high standard of product that was affordable. This model, with time, focus and direction, would change the bedding industry and she wanted to spend every waking minute working on this business to bring this model to fruition. Ms. Atkins moved her entire life from Queensland to Melbourne and has spent the last few years redeveloping the business model.
Ms. Atkins was recently inducted into Worldwide Branding and also maintains affiliation with the Australia Spinal Research Foundation.
