SAN DIEGO, CA, January 08, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Tourism is up in National City as the National City Tourism Marketing District is reporting an increase in hotel revenue in the 2013 fiscal year.
According to data collected by the city of National City, transit occupancy taxes collected in 2013 were 13.2 percent higher than in 2012. The success, however, isn't new to the National City Tourism Marketing District. A report by the San Diego Tourism Authority indicated tourism was up 17 percent in National City in 2012 over 2011; the highest increase of any city in San Diego County.
"It's great to see that people are still finding a way to travel, even as the economy is still on its way back up," said Jacqueline Reynoso, President and CEO of the National City Chamber of Commerce, which manages the National City Tourism Marketing District. "We've created a variety of outlets to encourage travel and tourism to National City and we're excited to see all of our hard work pay off."
The 12 hotels in the National City Tourism Marketing District are Best Western Marina Gateway, Carlill Auto Court, Clarion Hotel South Bay, Grand Plaza Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Howard Johnson Express, National City Motel, Paradise Motel, Rodeway Inn, Stardust Inn, Super 8 Motel and Sweetwater Inn.
