Phillips Industries to Manufacture in Mexico with The Offshore Group

    /24-7PressRelease/ - December 13, 2007 - Santa Fe Springs, California - based Phillips Industries has entered into a five year agreement for the provision of outsourced manufacturing support, or "shelter," services in Mexico with The Offshore Group.

The company will occupy approximately 35,000 square feet of industrial space at The Offshore Group's La Angostura industrial park, in Saltillo, Coahuila, and will initially employ approximately 90 direct labor workers. The company's Mexican facility will produce wire harnesses for heavy trailers.

According to the the firm's Director of Operations, Rob Phillips, "The partnership we've formed with The Offshore Group will allow us to achieve our long-term goals without sacrificing the high quality our customers have come to expect, while offering more of a global cost-structure for the company. The expertise that TOG brings to the table will greatly reduce the learning curve and setup time required to ensure a seamless transition from Dallas, Texas to Saltillo, Mexico."

Phillips Industries is a manufacturer, as well as a distributor, of a wide variety of commercial trucking products. The company serves both OEMs and the aftermarket, and is a vendor to virtually every major tractor and trailer manufacturer in the U.S.
