Mark D. Canning Celebrates His Personal and Professional Growth

Mr. Canning has 31 years of professional experience in project and property management, information technology, engineering and consultancy. He attributes his success to his attention to detail, formal training, and having a core technical engineering foundation. He became involved in his current profession because he was observed then recruited, by his current employer due to extraordinarily high levels of trust and commitment he demonstrated to his then employer and has held this position for more than eight years.

A career highlight that stood out was the challenge of working in Asia, where the language and culture were so different than what he was used to. He overcame the challenges and resistance of his local colleagues to gain their respect that allowed his highly motivated team of individuals the opportunity to learn from him and progress their own careers with a greater level of discipline. Previous challenges and successes are numerous and Mr Canning has worked for and with some of the best known companies in the UK, Europe and worldwide both commercial and public sector (a nine-year period working in Police crime, intelligence and custody solutions). He also managed a project on behalf of the European Union to investigate the use of digit signatures for legal documents across organisations and territories.

Mr. Canning received a Higher National Certificate in Production Engineering. Having then completed several years of work and formal training in IT, he moved from a Consultancy role to Project Management. He became a full professional member of the Association for Project Management (MAPM), as well as the Institute of Leadership and Management. In recognition of his exceptional talent and dedication, he has been presented with various engineering awards, as well as a commendation by the Chief Constable of the Warwickshire Police Force for his role as Chairman of the Hams Hall BID Company Limited.
