Stewart Drum Brings Logistics Experience to Private Company

    FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, January 28, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Stewart W. Drum, Director of Operations for HCI Integrated Solutions, has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in business solutions.

Mr. Drum has 30 years of professional experience, having recently become a Director of Operations for HCI Integrated Solutions. As a strategic planning expert, he answers directly to the Executive Vice President for all corporate Defense Logistics Group operations. In addition, he is responsible for organizing, planning, and executing support of all project and program contract activities, as well as providing advice and guidance to subordinate operational support staff and program managers. Through his work, Mr. Drum ensures the completion and delivery of project and program requirements and deliverables and provides a cohesive and stable work force.

Mr. Drum joined HCI Integrated Solutions in December 2013 after spending 30 years in logistics and operations. He retired after 22 years with the U.S. Army as a Lieutenant Colonel in 2001, and spent the last 11 years in logistics and operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Looking back, Mr. Drum attributes his success to his perseverance and desire to be challenged. He became involved in his profession because he started working in logistics halfway through his military career and has continued in the civilian sector. The highlight of his career occurred while he was working in Iraq, during the President Bush tenure, he decided to beef up the battlefield with 50,000 soldiers - this was known as "surge." In Baghdad, Iraq, he planned all aspects for this influx to include new housing, dining facilities, recreation centers, laundries, and even potable water making. This event took about one year to plan and execute since all items had to be trucked in from neighboring countries.

Mr. Drum received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice-Law from Lamar University. He was recently inducted into Worldwide Branding and also maintains affiliation with the Association of the United States Army and Silver Wings. In years to come, Mr. Drum plans to grow in the organization in a vice president role.
