But the 2014 Dyna Switchback at Harley-Davidson of Tampa can change from touring bike to street cruiser and back, thanks to the removable hard saddlebags and quick-detach windshield(1).
The Dyna Switchback is the lightest custom touring motorcycle in its class at just under 700 pounds without fuel, which translates to light yet surefooted handling. Being lightweight also lends itself to taking full advantage of the rubber-mounted, fuel-injected Twin Cam 103 engine and smooth 6-speed Cruise Drive transmission, which has 99 lb-ft of torque at 3,500 rpm(1).
The 2014 Dyna Switchback now has standard ABS, as well as Harley's optional Smart Security system, with hands-free start and a proximity key fob that automatically engages the security system when the driver steps away from the bike(1).
Mini ape hanger handlebars and full-length foot boards offer a comfortable riding position even on long trips, while the 2-into-1 chrome exhaust and black, 5-spoke cast aluminum wheels blend modern style and a classic sensibility. Further design details, such as the chrome headlight surround, blacked-out engine and body-color saddlebags, enhance the combination of modern and classic Harley-Davidson.
