Catherine Maria Savage Recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for Excellence in Business Management

    PERRACE WELLINGTON, NEW ZEALAND, February 6, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Catherine Savage, Managing Director of Savage Group Limited, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in business management.

After acquiring a business degree, Ms. Savage accrued 20 years of experience in funds management. In her previous role, was the managing director of AMP, New Zealand's largest fund management company, covering all asset classes, and managing over NZ$13 billion in assets. During that time she was also a member of AMP's global leadership team. Prioir to that position she headed up AMP's client services division and worked as a portfolio manager in the Fixed Interest and Derivatives team. Before joining AMP she headed up the Treasury at Natural Gas Corporation (NGC). AMP and NGC are both listed entities.

She her current position as the managing director of Savage Group Limited, a credible and well-known international fund management group, she is responsible for managing investment funds (with a particular focus on alternative assets and other private operating businesses, and overseeing 100 staff members. Throughout her career, she has acquired expertise in fund management, private equity, property, asset classes, performance pay issues and business and people management.

In addition to her position at Savage group Limited, she sits on seven boards, two of which she chairs and one of which she deputy chairs. The Boards she sits on include family offices; sovereign wealth funds; pensions funds; asset managers; and financial institutions. In most of these boards she is a member of both the People and Remuneration Committee; and Risk Committee.
She attributes her success to being a good coach, communication skills, hard work and leadership.
Ms. Savage is a member of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants, the Institute of Finance Proessionals NZ Inc; New Zealand Global Womend; and Women Corporate Directors Institute. In her free time, she volunteers at Little Flower Trust, the Life Education Trust and Enterprise NZ Trust. She also enjoys playing tennis, snow skiing and traveling. Through networking and consulting, Ms. Savage aims to continue expanding the business and gaining new clientele in the coming years.
