PV Thermal Solar is Awarded Patent for SolarRac2

    NEW CASTLE, DE, February 26, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- PV Thermal Solar LLC was recently awarded patent number 8661748 from the United States Patent Office, for SolarRac2 a ballasted aerodynamic solar racking system.

SolarRac2 has been recognized as the leading aerodynamic racking solution only requiring 3.4 pounds of total weight in many applications. This includes the weight of the racking, solar panel and ballast weight. SolarRac2 is the only ballasted racking solution that is certified in a 150 mph wind zone. SolarRac2 has a high tilt and low tilt version covered by the patent.

We settled with SolarDock in 2012, but this patent is additional proof that we never infringed on the SolarDock patent. PV Thermal Solar has also applied for a ballasted hot water panel racking patent, and according to Lewenz, expects to be awarded the patent sometime in 2014.
