Divorce Lawyer Sherri Donovan Makes TV Debut on VH1's Mob Wives

    NEW YORK, NY, March 05, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Attorney Sherri Donovan, N.Y. divorce lawyer, was the talk of the entertainment blogs following her appearance on the hit VH1 TV show, Mob Wives. Donovan played herself in an episode featuring mobster wife Renee Graziano, who was seeking Donovan's legal advice because her abusive ex-husband, Junior, is about to be released from prison.

The episode is shot in the law office of Ms. Donovan where Renee Graziano explains that her ex has been calling and writing her from prison expressing his desire that the mob couple try to rekindle their relationship once he is set free. Mrs. Graziano wants nothing to do with Junior because she fears that once he is out of prison, he will stalk and harass her.

It doesn't take Donovan long to figure out that this is not going to be her usual attorney client conference. Graziano does indeed want and need legal advice, but she is hesitant to follow Ms. Donovan's unequivocal recommendations for fear of breaking the mob code of silence on such matters. "My thing is I come from a specific family life style," Renee explains. "This, right here is gonna be wrong to a lot of people." Graziano then cut right to the chase. "I would never go to a lawyer. I would never go to cops or anything like that. To me personally, what I'm doing right now between you and I, I feel like this is a rat thing. I don't like this."

Sherri Donovan, proving to be just as strong as the tough underworld wife sitting across from her, will hear none of it replying, "This is not ratting. This is protecting." To make the point even more emphatically she says, "If you don't do this you are ratting on yourself."

A bit of pop culture fame is always fun and gratifying but Sherri Donovan was just as pleased to take the opportunity to send a strong message to other women who might be facing a similar situation as Mrs. Graziano. Donovan made it clear in no uncertain terms that Graziano had good legal options available to her, and that she should strongly consider taking them; a message that, in Ms. Donovan's opinion, many other women need to hear. "Being on Mob Wives was fun, but at the same time I wanted to tell women caught up in violent, abusive relationships that they have legal options available to get out of their situations."
