As a two-time suicide intent survivor and widow of a suicide victim, Sandra Leigh has made it her purpose to bring awareness and light to issues surrounding suicide prevention, including depression and mental illness. She has established herself as a self-employed writer, published author, and illustrator. Her first published book, "Love Letters" has been widely received for its beautiful writing and content. Sandra Leigh is in the process of publishing its sequel, "Love Letters 2- A Love I Don't Understand- Second Edition." Throughout her career, Sandra Leigh has also started a trilogy book series, based on her life with her late husband. Within the next five years, she plans to publish her book series, The "Together Forever Series," through SBPRA Publishing, work as an advocate for suicide prevention, and bring life to some of her inventions. She also aims to continue illustrating books and intends to write children's books, a religious book, and possibly turn her book, "Callen's Calling-Suicide Has No Closure" into a movie.
Sandra Leigh feels her ability to speak openly about suicide is what separates her from other authors in the self-help genre. She feels it is important to be honest and vulnerable in her writing in order to help those affected by cyber or real-life bullying or struggling with low self-esteem. By allowing her readers to see into the intimate details of her grief, she exposes an open-mindedness which she hopes will create change.
