MCLEAN, VA, March 26, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- EDC Consulting LLC (EDC), a leading Federal government IT services provider and Oracle Platinum partner, today announced a successful "go live" of the U.S. Army's Integrated Personnel Pay System - Army (IPPS-A).
As the prime contractor responsible for systems integration, EDC implemented PeopleSoft Enterprise Human Capital Management (HCM) 9.1 software along with Oracle 11g database capabilities to develop IPPS-A Increment I. IPPS-A is a web-based resource designed to provide integrated multi-component personnel and pay capabilities and create a comprehensive personnel and pay record for each Soldier for their entire career. IPPS-A will provide a single, multi-component trusted system with reporting capabilities that will provide a single record for all Army Soldiers and serve as a trusted data source for personnel and human resources data for the entire Army, allow for interface communications, and produce multi-component reports. IPPS-A Increment I provides the system infrastructure necessary to build future releases of the IPPS-A solution.
The IPPS-A program is a partnership between the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology (ASA (ALT)) and the Army G-1. Once IPPS-A is fully fielded, the system will:
- Create one personnel and pay record for each Soldier for their entire career
- Feature self-service capabilities, allowing Soldiers to access their personal information 24 hours a day
- Allow personnel actions to drive associated pay events
- Ensure access to accurate and timely military personnel data and delivery of benefits to all levels of management
- Serve as the authoritative database for personnel and pay data, subsuming many antiquated and disjointed systems
EDC, along with subcontractor team members, Oracle Corporation, IBM Corporation, SRA International and CA Technologies provide a wide-range of professional support services to ensure the successful deployment of IPPS-A Increment I focused on ensuring an effective transition of personnel and pay information from the Army's existing legacy and third party systems to PeopleSoft HCM 9.1 software.
Uli Werner, EDC's Chief Executive Officer said, "EDC has a strong track record of partnering with the U.S. Army and the Department of Defense in implementing enterprise-wide business systems and automating business processes for increased efficiencies. In support of IPPS-A, our proven ability to successfully implement state of the art Oracle and PeopleSoft business systems has helped the Army standardize and integrate business functions and processes, and put them on a path towards automating pay procedures across the entire Army so that Soldiers located around the globe may have access to their personnel and pay information 24 hours a day, 365 days a year."
