Mrs. Martin spent 18 years with the Louisiana Genetic Diseases Program
GRANGER, IN, March 28, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Cheryl M. Martin, a retired Administrative Specialist with the Louisiana Genetic Diseases Program, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in administrative services.
Mrs. Martin spent 18 years with the Louisiana Genetic Diseases Program. It was established in 1981 to be the operation of a comprehensive newborn heel stick screening program meeting national standards as well as to ensure access to genetic evaluation and counseling to residents in all areas of Louisiana. With expertise in contract management, Mrs. Martin negotiated with subcontractors, oversaw formula projections, handled budgeting and purchase orders and managed contracts and operations. In addition, Mrs. Martin coordinated programs and oversaw administrative duties, including the metabolic diseases formula unit and distribution. Additionally, she processed insurance reimbursements, and directed daily administrative programs as well as personnel concerns for employees. She attributes the success she achieved to hard work and determination.
Mrs. Martin graduated from East Jefferson High School in 1962. She is a member of the Humane Society of the U.S., and the Environmental Defense Fund, and a former member of the International Association of Business Communicators, National Parks Association, Best Friends Animal Sanctuary and LPHA.
She is also a founding sponsor of the Flight 93 National Memorial and names the following organizations among her favorite causes: Sacred Heart League, Smithsonian Institution, National Audubon Society, ASPCA and Mothers Against Drunk Driving, and The Coalition of Vietnam Veterans.
She enjoys caring for her dog and spending time with her grandson.
