A criminal charge can cost a person everything they've worked for.
TORONTO, ON, April 01, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Brian Leslie, a Toronto-based Deception Analyst who specializes in witness deception says that a criminal charge can cost a person everything they've worked for. Mr. Leslie consults with law firms in both Canada and the U.S through his consulting firm called Taskmasters Canada: www.taskmasterscanada.com
Mr. Leslie says, "Fighting any false criminal allegation or charge can cost a person potentially their life savings, reputation in the community, loss of friends, family, career, loss of freedom, as well as the process can last more than two years before being acquitted of the charges. Witnesses and what they disclose to police can impact the final outcome of any investigation. If the information turns out to be deceptive or misleading during trial but considered as truthful during the investigative process, it could result in a false charge being laid against a person leaving their life in potential ruins."
Taskmasters Canada uses a methodology to analyze witness deception called Reaction Analysis Profiling, which is an analytical methodology used to spot patterns of deception through the analysis of specific body language. Unlike instruments that record physiological response, Reaction Analysis Profiling is a visual reactive methodology which focuses primarily on a person's body language response. These responses are analyzed for specific patterns of deception and inconsistency. With this method it gives interviewers the ability to recognize deceptive patterning through the use of specific body language (primary and secondary visual reaction). Reaction Analysis Profiling was developed in 1983 by Taskmasters Canada founder Brian Leslie as an alternative interviewing technique in law enforcement to track patterns of deception in witnesses.
Taskmasters Canada also believes that by integrating Reaction Analysis Profiling methodology in front line Police training, it would provide a secondary filtering process when interviewing or taking witness statements. "We are currently approaching Law Enforcement in both the U.S. and Canada with this proposal," says Mr. Leslie. By integrating this type of training in Law Enforcement hopefully more awareness and care would be taken when interviewing potential witnesses relating to criminal matters.
