/24-7PressRelease/ - DALLAS, TX, January 03, 2008 - Most owners of exotic cars do not drive them very often. "A Ferrari F430 just isn't practical as a daily driving car," says commercial real estate developer and DFW Elite Car Club owner Ron Sturgeon. "In fact, most exotic car owners drive their $200,000 cars less than a few thousand miles a year," observes Mr. Sturgeon. "Add the costs of depreciation, maintenance, storage, and the cost per mile gets sky high. We created our Dallas exotic car sharing club to help those with a desire to drive a variety of the world's best cars to do it without having to purchase, maintain or store them," said the long-time car collector.
DFW Elite Car Club does not require a large cash outlay to join. Members choose one of the five levels of membership depending upon how much driving they want to do. They get a monthly allotment of points that work like currency for reserving club cars," says DFW Elite Car Club General Manager []Tom Warren.
"We opened our doors with a big advantage over most start up exotic car sharing clubs because we had a substantial number of cars from Mr. Sturgeon's personal collection to jump start the club," says Warren. "Many other clubs require large up front fees to join because they need the funds to buy cars to attract members. We've had an impressive car collection from day one."
"With a car to member ratio of five to one and a flexible system that allows unused points to roll over, we believe we have the right formula for car enthusiasts looking for head turning luxury or high octane driving fun," said Warren.
For Fort Worth-based Audio Engineer Derek Chase the attraction of membership was the chance to experience a variety of dream cars. "The first car I took out was the Lamborghini Gallardo Convertible and it was spectacular," said Mr. Chase. "I've had a lifelong love affair with performance cars. The club gives me the chance to drive an unmatched variety of the latest cars," reports the 27-year-old executive. "I have yet to get on the road with the club's new 2007 Bentley Continental GTC, but I plan on doing that soon," says Mr. Chase.
In its second full year of operations, DFW Elite Car Club has recently added the Bentley GTC and a BMW M6 Convertible to the club's paddock. They have a 2008 Audi R8 on order.
"Our members are car connoisseurs," says Sturgeon. "They like to have a day or a weekend to really experience everything that an elite vehicle can do on the open road. For the true exotic car enthusiast, the DFW Elite Car Club is a very shrewd way to get behind the wheel of some of the world's best engineered performance cars." An excellent nationwide directory of car sharing clubs is available online at www.exoticcarclubs.com.
DFW Elite Car Club.com is headquartered at 5940 Eden in Fort Worth, and serves members throughout the DFW Metroplex with 30 exotic and luxury cars, trucks and SUV's. For more information or to see a complete inventory of club vehicles, visit http://www.dfwelitecarclub.com or call 817-331-0788.
