The interest level is high as organizations attempt to figure out which solution makes the most sense for them.
OREM, UT, May 01, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Government regulations and JCAHO certification are driving providers to make purchasing plans for dose monitoring solutions, and in discussions about these plans, two vendors are capturing the majority of providers' mindshare. This according to the latest KLAS report, Radiology Dose Monitoring Solutions 2014: Provider Strategies in an Evolving Market.
Of the 100 providers whom KLAS interviewed, 83 either have purchased a dose monitoring solution or are seriously looking for one. When providers were asked which solutions they were considering, Bayer and GE Healthcare dominated the discussions, with both vendors being mentioned by about 60% of providers. Whereas 30% of providers have already purchased a solution, 65% plan on purchasing one within the next two years.
"While Bayer and GE are currently capturing the majority of the mindshare, other players have garnered some attention. However, they have an uphill battle in trying to compete with the two mindshare leaders," said Matt Terry, report author. He added, "The interest level is high as organizations attempt to figure out which solution makes the most sense for them. Options range from full, robust solutions with all the bells and whistles, to simpler solutions that can still get the job done, to PACS solutions that now offer dose monitoring capabilities."
The firms included in this study are ACR, Agfa HealthCare, Bayer HealthCare, Bracco, DR Systems, GE Healthcare, INFINITT, Imalogix, McKesson, Novarad, PACSHealth, Philips, RADIANCE, Scannerside, Sectra and Siemens.
