TAMPA, FL, May 07, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Nissan's yellow-colored NV200 vans are roaming the streets of New York City. After winning the "Taxi for Tomorrow" contest in 2011 the automaker unleashed supplies of the Nissan NV200 taxicabs in The Big Apple two years later. (1)
Nissan Tampa is pleased to share the good news of the new NV200. The cab provides space for four passengers, with room for their luggage and other travel items. Sliding doors and an entry step help to ease the client into the comfortable vehicle. For added comfort, rear air conditioning is available, along with the option of opening the side windows. (2)
An overhead light is included as well, along with a video screen that showcases commercials. (2) For the driver, a strong plexiglass separates the front row from the rear passengers, keeping things a bit quieter overall. (1)
For safety, Nissan's new taxicab is equipped with a horn that, when used, has just the right intensity. The exterior lights flash at the same time the horn is used as well. This will help to avoid a collision, should the situation occur. (3)
The vehicle also comes standard with traction control and Vehicle Dynamic Control. (2) Nissan's NV200 is equipped with a standard navigation system, and a backup camera to keep an eye out for people and small objects. (3) For dire situations, the driver can also press the panic button, activating a 911 signal. (1)
That being said, a good amount of power is needed to boost the van forward, and to stop it should something randomly cross its path. Therefore, under the hood of the Nissan NV200 is a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder powertrain, combined with a warranty of 150,000 miles. (2)
On your next trip to New York City, try and spot one of the Nissan NV200 taxicabs. For consumers interested in the NV200 without the yellow and black colors, visit your Nissan dealerships in Tampa for more information.
