After more than two decades of experience in psychiatry, Dr. O'Domhnaill has developed an unparalleled expertise in addiction and forensic and diagnostic psychiatry. He has dedicated his extensive skills to improving the lives of others through empathetic therapy and treatment. Dr. O'Domhnaill's father, Dr. Padraigh O'Domhnaill MD, started the very first public service addiction program in Ireland in 1973, and Dr. Sean is currently working to build SOS Ireland, an international hotline for Irish immigrants in the United States, Australia, New Zealand and Canada. His goal is to provide support and relief for immigrants in need by putting them in contact with professional help. Dr. O'Domhnaill currently works as a consultant psychiatrist at Psychiatric Court Services Limited. In this position, Dr. O'Domhnaill serves as a specialist in addiction, as well as medical, legal and forensic psychiatry. He has developed an expert ability to identify the symptoms of addiction, ADHD and Asperger's Syndrome in adults, and to provide treatment.
Prior to joining Psychiatric Court Services Limited, Dr. O'Domhnaill earned a number of qualifications. While ever expanding his knowledge of neuropsychopharmacology, he graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine, a Bachelor of Surgery and a Bachelor of Obstetrics, from the Royal college of Surgeons in Ireland in 1994 and followed this with a Diploma in Psychological medicine in 2001 and a Diploma in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in 2004. Dr. O'Domhnaill is a member of both the Royal College of Psychiatrists since 2002 and the College of Psychiatrists of Ireland since its inception. He was the founder of the addiction faculty of the Irish division of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 2003.
He has been honored as the first Special Rapporteur from the Irish United Nations Association Human Rights Division in 2010. In recognition of his achievements, Dr. O'Domhnaill was recently inducted into Worldwide Branding. Looking forward, he aims to take on a larger role in human rights on an international level.
