Terrace BC Needs Vets!

    TERRACE, BC, May 27, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Terrace BC is booming and there are only 2 vets. One is semi-retired and neither is accepting new clients. There used to be 3, but one retired and nobody took over his clinic. Many local residents have to drive an hour or more to neighboring towns for service, and those vets are heavily booked, so getting clientele won't be a problem.

Although real estate prices here have risen somewhat in recent years, they are still quite reasonable, and a bargain by lower mainland standards. A decent house can still be found for $200,000 or less.

The climate is mild compared to most of Canada, summer days in the mid 20s to low 30s, winter days are rarely colder than -15 and long periods of thaw are common. In spite of that, the snowmobiling and skiing here are good due to the mountains. There is a ski resort west of town called Shames Mountain that is known for huge powder.

If you like to fish, this is the place to be for one reason - variety. There are big lakes, small lakes, big rivers, small rivers and the ocean all within less than an hour's drive. Heck, the Skeena flows right through town.

Lakelse lake about 10 minutes from town and offers 3 public yellow sand beaches, a marina with storage facilities and a variety of lake front houses from simple cottages to beautiful million dollar properties.

There is an extensive network of logging roads throughout the surrounding forest, which gives amazing back country access to those who are into ATVs and 4x4s.

While still fairly small, Terrace is big enough to attract the big retailers. Walmart, McDonalds, Pizza Hut, Canadian Tire and many more are here as well as all the major vehicle brands, etc. In short, it's a proper, full service town.

So there's lots to do when you're not working, but what about money? Well, a half hour away in Kitimat, 8 billion dollars is being spent on a petrochemical plant, a LNG shipping facility and more. Just down the road from my home a project is underway to construct 5000 units of housing to serve those projects. This town is popping AND YOU CAN'T GET A VET.

So please, if you've been thinking of relocating to a little bit of paradise in the mountains, consider Terrace, we really need more vets.
